The Weekend Review

Well another week has ended. For the first time in my life, my weekends and week days are exactly the same. I am at the house or running to get stuff for the house all day every day with very few exceptions. The last three months just seem like one big blur. Tonight I was trying to figure out what we did last weekend and I couldn’t even remember what I did the first three days of this week…I still haven’t figured it out.  Don’t get me wrong I am enjoying the renovation, but I will be happy when it comes to an end. And now that we are on the subject of the so called “renovation”, I think the gig is up and we should more accurate start calling it the “rebuild”. Oh how we hoped it would be just a renovation. Yikes! Well I am exhausted and so this summary of the past week will be mostly told by my Nikon D300.

Do you remember the old backyard? It was filled with holly bushes and other bushes randomly placed throughout the entire backyard. Here is a picture I took right after we bought the house.

Well it has been transformed. It isn’t completely finished but you can get an idea from the pictures bellow. Brent Donaldson who owns the Donaldson Group did the design and the install of the landscaping. They have been great and worked until dark tonight trying to finish the sod it the front. The entire yard will be finished by Thursday. We had to remove two large trees in order to bump out in the back and now have quite a bit of firewood which should last us a good long while. The fence company (Shelby Fence Company) installed the fence in about 6 hours and made our backyard Hank and Lucy friendly. I brought the dogs to the house today while we worked and they were in heaven. It is much larger than our SRB yard. I am just wondering how we are going to keep it mowed.

The painters began calking, sanding and priming the walls and trim this week. Today they painted the trim and they will come back tomorrow and work on painting the walls. The pictures I am posting are after they put up the tinted primer. They used the same color on the walls and trim for the primer but the trim will actually be a different color.

Well that’s all I have for now.  I did take a trip to the big city of Boaz, Alabama this week to okay the finish on our cabinets and I will do a post on that and a tile update later this week.
